Larry Page’s Original Business Card….

This is hilarious, to think that less than 15 years ago Google was just another dot com business trying to get a foothold in the search engine market, and this just goes to show the level which the company were at in 1998.

There is a story behind who and why they had this business card, which if you follow the link through you can read.

It is strange to see the humble beginnings of what is a behemoth of a company now. An inkjet printed business card, if you look closely you can see the little bleed around the edges of the Google logo, which even has the somewhat forgotten exclamation point which used to be an element of the original logo.

The fact that someone still has this is fantastic, its such a understated piece of design history, it is easy to forget that all business’ have to start somewhere, and even though I believe that a good foundation for a business is a solid design, whether it be branding or literature, it just goes to show, sometimes it is just enough to have an excellent business model.
