Brand Identity: The High Street Salon
The brief was to create an identity for a new development salon that will take learning out of the classroom and into the commercial world. The Salon will be part of a college based initiative to enable hair, beauty and holistic therapy students to experience the commercial environment of a real world salon. The typeface is based around Baskerville but with small typographical changes to tailor the typeface to the identity.

Schools need to get a grip and deal with the big problems; students intimidating other students, even staff, bullying, drugs, learning.
Whatever colour your hair is does not reflect your ability to learn, or affect the learning of others. A child who feels it is ok to challenge a teacher on every point raised, or to disrupt others learning by being disruptive and loud etc will get nothing, and they are the real barriers to learning in a classroom.
Schools are shooting themselves in the foot with this and it will not be too long I think before someone blows this discrimination wide apart by utilising the Human Rights Act, and taking it all the way to a resolution.
Having different coloured hair.
Or
Discriminating and punishing someone by excluding them from lessons until all the colour is gone.
I know which one would be the barrier to learning.
I keep seeing a photo of Katie Piper looking all sad being reblogged. This woman is such an inspiration and the fact that she can find the strength to smile should be celebrated, and I don’t care if this doesn’t get liked or reblogged but I think she deserves to have people see the wonderful smile that she can muster.
Even after all she has been through she not only still looks beautiful, but her strength, courage and heart should be inspirational to each and everyone of us.

I’m in the process of creating a downloadable magazine that focuses on design/fashion/art/photography/etc…..
It will be for the purpose of promoting young creatives that usually get little to no promotion, out into the public eye……and this is where you come in!
Unfortunately (or fortunately in retrospect) the original issue I had corrupted and I’ve had to start from scratch, and I am asking the amazing followers I have to get in touch if they can contribute, whether its work/photos/features just drop me an ASK and let me know.
No topics are off limits (within reason!) and any work will be credited as such.
